Het UWV-hoofdkantoor is vooral zo duur geworden omdat er steeds opnieuw verbouwd werd.
Steen des aanstoots zijn de hoge bedragen die voor dit alles werden betaald. De inrichting van een vierkante meter van kantoor B kostte 1.149 euro en niet 923 euro zoals het UWV in september aan minister De Geus rapporteerde. Dat verschil werd veroorzaakt doordat het UWV ook de parkeergarage meetelde in de oppervlakteberekening. Een fout die in november vorig jaar in de hogere regionen van UWV bekend was, maar waarvan de minister en de Kamer niet op de hoogte werden gesteld.
Wat de verbouwing zo duur maakte, waren vooral de vele tussentijdse wijzigingen die de UWV-top liet uitvoeren. Toiletten die reeds waren ingericht werden gesloopt om luxer uitgevoerd te worden.

How MaidSafe will work
MaidSafe has a foundation, set up as a charity, to hold its patents, which the firm says are purely defensive. It may have noble goals, but it also has a for-profit business model.
The firm will charge a fee to companies seeking to use its network for their own commercial services. If, for example, Dropbox wanted to provide its users with more secure storage, then it might decide to connect its service to the MaidSafe network, and it would be asked for a percentage of its revenue.
MaidSafe has a nominal figure of 1%, although it would have to be negotiated on an ad hoc basis, in practice.
‘Development pods’, the network of third-party developers that MaidSafe is currently building, will also develop their own apps, bolstering the ecosystem and earning more money themselves.
The other part of the system that also generates money is safecoin – the cryptocurrency that enables MaidSafe to work.

Is a coin that is generated and protected by the SAFE network and stays on the SAFE network (It of course can be copied as it is data, but off-network copies are of no value as a coin). Wallets will actually ask the network what their balance is and allow transactions to happen.
The network can confirm and exchange coin ownership via a digitally signed authority from the coins last owner. This operation is ‘network atomic’ which basically means the network will make sure all copies update to show the transaction.
This is a different approach to the ‘blockchain’ mechanism employed by bitcoin. The SAFE network allows many millions of transactions per second and the larger the network the more transactions per second can be executed.
